Jo-anne Moore
Hi – my name is Jo.
I’m an accredited EMDR Practitioner and Counselling Psychotherapist. I work with adults, and young people aged 15+.
I’m passionate about EMDR Psychotherapy and seeing how the process can change people's lives. The most satisfying part of my work comes from saying goodbye to a client where I have seen transformative change - this is both moving and humbling as the path for clients can be a difficult one.
It is my privilege to work alongside and fully support a client during this process.
Experience
My early therapeutic experience stemmed from working with charities including Mind, Cruse and the NSPCC. I’ve worked in private practice for about 7 years and I’m currently enjoying working as part of a Team as an Associate with Lynne and Amandeep.
I have experience working with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety and depression, loss and bereavement, trauma and PTSD and I have significant experience working with relational trauma (including domestic violence and childhood abuse).
My interest to train and become a therapist stemmed from my foster care experience, providing a therapeutic home over 6 years for up to two siblings on a short term (up to 18 months) basis.
This taught me a huge amount about trauma caused by neglect, abuse and bullying. In recent years I’ve worked with parents struggling with the demands of parenthood including those at risk of having their children removed.
Qualifications
I hold a master’s degree in counselling (gained at the University of Northampton) and enjoy attending further training to enhance and update my knowledge and consult on new ideas. I trained in EMDR after learning about the excellent results it was achieving for clients.

I’m an Accredited, registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and as such I work within their ethical framework and code of conduct to ensure strict confidentiality, and emotionally safe therapeutic interventions.
EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner.
